A key piece of the internet’s usually hidden infrastructure suffered a global outage on Tuesday, causing error messages to flash up across websites.
Cloudflare, a US company whose services include defending millions of websites against malicious attacks, experienced an unidentified problem, which meant internet users could not access some of its customers’ websites.
Some site owners could not access their performance dashboards. Sites including X and OpenAI suffered increased outages at the same time as Cloudflare’s problems, according to Downdetector.
The outage was reported at 11.48am London time and by 2.48pm the company said: “A fix has been implemented and we believe the incident is now resolved. We are continuing to monitor for errors to ensure all services are back to normal.” (Guardian – Continue Reading)
Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund-backed artificial intelligence company Humain is set to announce a slew of new deals with US firms tomorrow as the country looks to pour billions of dollars into a plan to become the world’s third largest country for AI.
Humain is planning to announce multi-gigawatts data center buildouts in collaboration with companies including Amazon, AMD, xAI and GlobalAI, according to people familiar with the matter. The deals are expected to follow on from an agreement for the US to approve a large semiconductors sale to the country, the people said. It’s unclear how many of the deals will be new and substantive, or indications of progress made on agreements announced during US President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh in May.
Bitcoin (BTC), along with other top cryptos, continued its downtrend over the past week as risk-off sentiment intensified across the digital asset market. The top crypto's sell-off last week was mainly driven by a sharp drop in market expectations of a December rate cut by the Federal Reserve (Fed). The probability of a rate cut declined from ~70% to ~42% in about a week, further plunging the already weak sentiment in risk assets, according to digital asset market maker Wintermute in a Monday report.
While risk assets generally experienced a pullback, crypto suffered the largest decline, with a 14% drop, maintaining its strong sentiment-driven nature relative to other asset classes. The move also underscores crypto's negative skew versus equities in 2025. Unlike the norm in a market-wide downtrend, Bitcoin and Ethereum (ETH) underperformed the average price movement of altcoins. However, all token categories experienced notable weekly drawdowns, including resilient sectors such as L1s, L2s, and DeFi.
