At the BRICS summit in New Delhi on Sept. 12, 2026, Xi Jinping called for a more active role for China and other member countries in ending the war with Iran. China’s president said the conflict had inflicted serious losses across the region, was against the common interests of the international community, and should give way to a “permanent, comprehensive ceasefire” and a new regional security architecture. China, he added, would work with other BRICS members to play its “due role” in bringing peace and stability to the Middle East.

LVMH shares have fallen to their lowest since 2020; founder and Chief Executive Officer Bernard Arnault no longer ranks among the world’s top 10 billionaires, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The company has become a focal point for concerns that the industry faces an era of slower growth, as consumers increasingly favor experiences over possessions. But it also faces challenges of its own making, including who will succeed Arnault.
